Questions

FAQs

What is BeThe.Farm?
An annual membership on a working farm on the Hāmākua Coast. Members come with their own group, work the land for a week or two, eat what the farm grows, and return to what they started.
Is this a hotel?
No. There is no public lodging and no nightly booking. Time on the farm belongs to member work visits and to invited community and education periods.
How long is a visit?
Visits generally begin at one week. Some groups take two.
Do I need farming experience?
No. The work is real and physical, but it is shared, taught and matched to what the farm needs that week.
Can I come on my own?
Membership is built around groups — families, friends, households who already like working beside each other. Write to us if you are on your own; we will tell you honestly what is possible.
What does it cost?
Membership and visit costs are being settled and are confirmed with each group directly for now.
